Model reduction by projection: general properties

چکیده

4.1 Common projection schemes A projection method can be viewed as application of a “lossy” compression to a system’s state, and re-writing equations for the state’s dynamics in terms of a compressed representation. Depending on a system and model class (linear vs. non-linear, state-space vs. input/output, time-varying vs. time-invariant, etc.), different implementations of this approach become typical.

2D Dimensionality Reduction Methods without Loss

In this paper, several two-dimensional extensions of principal component analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) techniques has been applied in a lossless dimensionality reduction framework, for face recognition application. In this framework, the benefits of dimensionality reduction were used to improve the performance of its predictive model, which was a support vector machine (...

مدل ترکیبی تحلیل مؤلفه اصلی احتمالاتی بانظارت در چارچوب کاهش بعد بدون اتلاف برای شناسایی چهره

In this paper, we first proposed the supervised version of probabilistic principal component analysis mixture model. Then, we consider a learning predictive model with projection penalties, as an approach for dimensionality reduction without loss of information for face recognition. In the proposed method, first a local linear underlying manifold of data samples is obtained using the supervised...

A flood risk projection for Soleimantangeh Dam against future climate change

A sensitivity analysis of the flood safety of Solaimantangeh dam using a regional climate change simulation is presented. Based on the output of the CCSM (Community Climate Change System Model) general circulation model, the NIRCM (North of Iran Regional Climate Model) computes regional scale output with 50 km spatial resolution and 21 vertical layers. Using the SRES (Special Report Emission Sc...

Structure-preserving Model Reduction Using a Krylov Subspace Projection Formulation∗

A general framework for structure-preserving model reduction by Krylov subspace projection methods is developed. It not only matches as many moments as possible but also preserves substructures of importance in the coefficient matrices L,G,C, and B that define a dynamical system prescribed by the transfer function of the form H(s)=L∗(G+sC)−1B. Many existing structurepreserving model-order reduc...
